Late July is peak season in Ibiza's party towns, but the island's north and interior stay calm. This 4-day route skips the superclubs for hidden coves, hippie markets, and sunset spots without the cover charge.
Day 1: Dalt Vila and Ibiza Town
Wander Dalt Vila, the walled UNESCO old town, before the crowds arrive in the evening. Grab lunch at a quiet cafe on the ramparts, then rest up before exploring the quieter side of the island.
Day 2: North Coast Coves
Drive north to Cala Xarraca and Cala Benirras, two coves known for calm water and, at Benirras, a Sunday drum circle at sunset. This part of the island feels closer to the 1960s hippie era than the club scene.
Day 3: Es Vedra and Cala d'Hort
Spend the day at Cala d'Hort, facing the dramatic rock islet of Es Vedra, said to be one of the most magnetic points on earth. Swim in the afternoon and stay for sunset, the best view of the rock on the island.
Day 4: Las Dalias Market and Departure
Browse the Las Dalias hippie market for last-minute souvenirs and handmade goods before heading to the airport.
Practical notes: A rental car is the only practical way to reach the quiet north coast coves. Roads and parking near Cala d'Hort fill up for sunset, arrive by late afternoon. Late July club prices in Ibiza Town spike hard, staying inland or on the north coast saves significantly.
Where to Stay
Budget: Guesthouses near San Juan run $90-130 a night in July.
Mid-range: Finca-style boutique stays inland cost $200-280 a night in peak season.
Splurge: Atzaro Agroturismo pairs rustic luxury with organic gardens from around $500 a night.
Where to Eat
Es Boldado near Cala d'Hort: Cliffside paella with a direct view of Es Vedra.
Cala Xarraca beach bar: Simple grilled fish steps from the water.
La Paloma in San Lorenzo: Garden dining with organic, farm-driven Mediterranean dishes.
