MSC’s Newest Flagship Brings an Italian Food Hall to the Mediterranean

Large cruise ship at sea

MSC Cruises’ newest flagship, MSC World Asia, begins sailing Mediterranean itineraries on December 4, 2026, and one of its marquee venues is an Eataly restaurant. It is the second Eataly at sea; the first is aboard MSC World America. MSC says it is the only cruise line to carry the Italian culinary brand onboard.

The restaurant serves regional specialties and classic Italian dishes built around high-quality ingredients. Guests can watch chefs at work at a dedicated show-cooking table, and an outdoor terrace offers views of the ocean. Wine can be chosen from a cellar, a feature the line ties to The Terrace Bar.

Eataly is only one part of a large food and drink program. The ship will have more than 40 bars, lounges, cafés and restaurants, some of them developed with culinary partners. For a vessel meant to anchor a European winter and spring season, that breadth is a major selling point.

The opening itineraries run seven nights and call at Barcelona in Spain, Marseille in France, Messina, Civitavecchia for Rome and Naples in Italy, and Valletta in Malta. Several ports offer embarkation, so the report names no single home port. It also does not give passenger capacity, gross tonnage or crew numbers, details travelers may want before comparing it with other megaships.
