Greek Islands: Two Ways to See the Cyclades
From caldera sunsets to windmill-lined harbors, these two real itineraries cover the classic Greek island trip and a quieter island-hopping alternative.
Choose your islands
Santorini gets the postcards, but the Cyclades are bigger than one island. Pick the caldera-view classic, or pair Mykonos’ energy with the quieter marble villages of Paros. Not sure which? See the side-by-side comparison below.
When to go
Late June and September hit the sweet spot: warm enough to swim, without July and August’s full crowds and peak prices. Ferries between islands run most frequently from June through September, so shoulder-season travelers still get easy island-hopping without the Oia sunset crush.
