WestJet has removed three transatlantic routes from its summer 2027 plans: Halifax to Copenhagen, Halifax to Madrid, and Toronto to Glasgow. Industry schedule trackers picked up the change in the first days of October.
The Halifax pair matters most for Atlantic Canada, where nonstop European options are limited and travelers often connect through Toronto or Montreal. Losing both leaves the region with fewer ways to reach Europe directly next summer.
Copenhagen service was already a casualty of earlier schedule trimming, so this reads as a decision not to bring it back rather than a fresh cut. The Glasgow route was one of the carrier’s newer European additions.
If you were planning a 2027 trip around one of these flights, hold off on booking non-refundable extras. WestJet’s other European routes are not affected by this change, but it is a reminder that summer schedules stay fluid long after they first appear.
