Extended-stay hotels rarely make headlines, but Choice Hotels just reached a milestone: its 600th property in the segment. The hotel is the Everhome Suites Denver Airport, less than ten miles from Denver International Airport.
Choice’s extended-stay lineup spans Everhome Suites and MainStay Suites in the midscale tier and WoodSpring Suites and Suburban Studios in economy. At June 30, 2026, it counted 598 U.S. extended-stay hotels with 60,121 rooms. U.S. extended-stay net room growth was 13% year over year, the 12th straight quarter of double-digit growth, and about 29,900 extended-stay rooms sit in the pipeline, 39% of Choice’s global pipeline.
The reasons are practical. Everhome offers studio and one-bedroom suites with full kitchens and laundry facilities, and the brand promotes savings for stays of seven nights or longer. The customer mix includes construction workers, consultants, medical professionals, relocating families and remote workers. Rivals such as Marriott, Hilton and IHG are also pushing hard into the category.
For travelers, more supply means more choice for long trips, from work assignments to extended family visits. One caution: the 600 figure is not clearly scoped as U.S.-only or global, so compare brand details directly rather than relying on the headline number.
