Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas returned to Cape Liberty on October 11 at 9:30 a.m. instead of the scheduled 6:00 a.m. The cause was a passenger on the October 4 sailing who needed urgent medical care and was debarked for treatment. A guest’s Facebook post says that happened in Nassau, but Royal Caribbean did not confirm the location.
The delay changed boarding for the next voyage. The 3:00 p.m. departure is delayed, with check-in now running from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. instead of beginning at 10:00 a.m., and early arrivals will be turned away. No new departure time was given.
The Port Canaveral call moved from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., though the 8:30 p.m. departure from there is unchanged. The ship is still due back at Cape Liberty on October 18, and no other port changes have been announced.
Guests on the October 4 cruise can be reimbursed for flight or transportation change fees, up to 200 dollars per person domestic and 400 dollars per person international. Affected excursions will be rescheduled where possible, with unused amounts refunded as onboard credit or to the card on file within 14 business days after final disembarkation.
