Princess Will Sail the Amazon Again for the First Time Since 2014

River winding through the Amazon rainforest

Princess Cruises has unveiled its 2028-29 Americas season, and it includes a return to Amazon River cruising for the first time since 2014. The program covers more than 250 departures across North, Central and South America, the Caribbean, the Pacific and Antarctica, and sailings are on sale now. They range from four-day West Coast trips to a new 64-day Circle South America voyage aboard Coral Princess.

The Caribbean is the biggest piece, with 141 departures on 49 itineraries of five to 17 days from Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, San Juan, New York and Barbados. New exclusive stops include Celebration Key and RelaxAway in The Bahamas and Isla Tropicale in Roatán, Honduras. Panama Canal sailings add 12 departures of 16 to 20 days, and Canada and New England has 17 departures, with Îles de la Madeleine new for 2028.

Elsewhere, Hawaii returns with 14 departures from Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver, Mexico has 35 departures, and the California coast has 18. South America and Antarctica gets 13 departures on 11 itineraries visiting 38 destinations in 16 countries aboard Majestic Princess and Coral Princess. Highlights include a 17-day Antarctica and Patagonia trip and a 15-day Cape Horn and Glaciers of Patagonia voyage.

The announcement did not give the Amazon itinerary’s length, departure port, ship or prices, so travelers will need to check the line’s booking pages for those details. An early-booking offer runs through February 16, 2027 and includes up to $300 in savings, up to $300 in onboard credit, $100 deposits and early dining reservation access.
