Princess Cruises’ Royal Princess is making her Southeast Asia debut after a summer in Alaska. The 2013-built ship is wrapping up a repositioning voyage, with a routine drydock scheduled for mid-October, before starting her first cruise from Singapore: an 11-night round trip from the Marina Bay Cruise Center.
That first cruise visits Laem Chabang in Thailand, with an overnight stay for Bangkok, then Port Klang for Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, and Ko Samui in Thailand. The overnight at Laem Chabang gives travellers time to reach Bangkok and back without rushing, which is a feature many cruise itineraries in the region try to offer.
Her second and final Singapore cruise is a 15-night repositioning voyage to Sydney, starting in early November, with visits in Indonesia and Australia. The journey to Asia began with a 14-night Seattle-to-Tokyo leg calling in Alaska and Japan, followed by a 12-night Tokyo-to-Singapore leg through Japanese ports, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam. The two legs were also bookable as a single 26-night Seattle-to-Singapore sailing.
Royal Princess is part of an expanded Singapore season that also includes sister ships Diamond Princess and Sapphire Princess, with most sailings departing Singapore for Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and other countries. For travellers, three Princess ships based in Singapore gives anyone flying in a wider choice of dates for short regional itineraries.
