Fred. Olsen Cruises says the launch of its 2028 program produced the strongest trading day in its history, the second time it has broken that record this year. Bookings opened on October 7, a week after the collection was unveiled, and an early release of a Scenic Highlights of Canada cruise sold out in under two weeks.
The earlier record came in July, with the launch of an 87-night Amazon and Antarctica Grand Voyage for 2028. The company did not publish sales figures or percentages, so the claim rests on the line’s own description, delivered by head of sales Geoff Ridgeon.
The program covers 39 new cruises departing between January and July 2028 from Liverpool, Newcastle, Rosyth and Portsmouth, plus fly-cruise options on the line’s smaller ships. Destinations include the Norwegian fjords, the British Isles, Northern Lights sailings, and fly-cruises to the Mediterranean and Atlantic Islands.
Top sellers so far are a 13-night trip visiting nine Northern European countries, an 18-night Italian Riviera and Amalfi Coast cruise and a 37-night island-hopping voyage to Bermuda, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico. Guests who book by November 4 are covered by a Freedom Fare Price Promise: if the price of the same cabin on the same sailing drops within four weeks of sale, they receive either a cabin upgrade or onboard credit, and solo travelers can choose cabins with no single supplement.
