Virgin Voyages has canceled the October 30, 2027 Halloween sailing of Brilliant Lady, a Los Angeles round trip that was to visit San Diego, Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas. The notice to guests said the voyage was canceled due to a private charter. The line has not disclosed who booked the ship or why.
The change spills into the next cruise. A 7-night Mexican Riviera sailing departing Los Angeles on November 6, 2027 is also affected by a West Coast schedule change. It is being replaced with two shorter trips: a 4-night cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada, and a 3-night cruise to Ensenada. At the time of reporting, those new sailings were not yet on Virgin’s website.
Guests on both original sailings can transfer to any other 7-night Los Angeles voyage departing between September 18 and November 13, 2027, with their original fare and promotions honored plus $100 in onboard credit. They can also take a full refund to the original payment method. Those on the November 6 sailing may instead move to one of the new 3- or 4-night trips with payments carried over and the same $100 credit.
One guest reported that the refund option did not mention refunding My Next Virgin Voyage certificates, so anyone using those should ask Virgin directly before choosing. The disruption is another for Brilliant Lady, which carries about 2,770 guests and has had a run of West Coast itineraries altered this year.
