Explora III arrived in Miami on October 25 to begin its winter season in the Caribbean, marking the luxury brand’s Miami debut. A plaque exchange marked the occasion, with attendees including PortMiami’s director and chief executive, the chairman of MSC Cruises USA, the head of CLIA and the ship’s captain. The ship carries 922 guests and weighs 72,810 tons.
The deployment runs until early April 2027 and includes a series of cruises departing from Florida, Puerto Rico and Barbados. The article did not list individual itineraries or ports, so travelers interested in specific sailings will need to check the brand’s schedule. After the winter season, the ship moves to the West Coast for Explora Journeys’ first Alaska program.
Explora III is the third ship in the fleet, having entered service in summer 2026 and reached North America in late September 2026, its first time in the region. For a brand launched only a few years ago, a steady stream of ships is changing how quickly it can serve markets beyond Europe, where its first vessels began.
More ships are on the way. Explora IV is due in spring 2027, Explora V later in 2027 and Explora VI in summer 2028. At Fincantieri’s Sestri Ponente shipyard in Genoa, Italy, Explora V has been floated out and Explora VI has had its coin ceremony. By 2028 the fleet will have grown to six vessels, a rapid expansion for a brand positioned at the premium end of the cruise market.
