United Airlines is building out its Houston hub with a cluster of new Latin American routes, according to details shared by the Houston Airport System. The airline’s return to Caracas, Venezuela, is the most notable, set to start in January 2027 after a break of several years.

The Caracas launch was originally planned for August 2026 but slipped after earthquakes damaged the airport there. United has not named the aircraft it will use on any of the new routes.

Elsewhere, flights to Tuxtla Gutiérrez in Mexico start later this month and will be that city’s only nonstop international connection. United’s Houston–Cartagena service, announced in June, begins in December 2026.

United also plans to resume service to Chihuahua, Mexico, next spring, though it has not yet announced the route or a start date. Together the routes deepen Houston’s role as a gateway to Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela for connecting passengers across the United States.
