Ryanair Has Stacked 156 Routes Into Morocco This Winter

Ryanair is pushing deeper into Morocco this winter, with a schedule of 5.3 million seats on 156 routes to 14 European countries. That includes 17 new routes and 580,000 additional seats, which the airline describes as 12 percent growth on the previous winter. For travelers from Europe, the practical effect is more choice and, usually, more competition on fares to Moroccan cities.

Rabat is the centerpiece. It becomes Ryanair’s fifth Moroccan base, with two aircraft assigned, and new routes from the city include Stockholm and Kraków. Having aircraft overnight in Rabat generally allows early-morning departures and a broader spread of frequencies than flying in from elsewhere.

The airline also announced on 28 October that Rabat Airport is its first to receive self-service, mobile-enabled bag-drop kiosks, which Ryanair calls the first deployment of that technology in Morocco. Chief operating officer Neal McMahon said the aim is to extend it to Agadir, Fez, Marrakesh and Tangier by summer 2027, which is a target rather than a confirmed installation schedule. Ryanair has not published measured waiting-time savings.

One catch applies everywhere. From 10 November 2026, Ryanair’s airport bag drop will close 60 minutes before departure, up from 40, and that includes the kiosks. Anyone checking a bag should plan to arrive earlier than they did last winter.
