Royal Caribbean’s Haiti Stop Is Off the Menu for Another Ten Months

Royal Caribbean has extended its pause on calling at Labadee, its private-style destination in Haiti, through at least April 2028. Cruise Hive reported the change on October 30, saying it pushes the cancellation roughly ten months beyond the earlier July 2026 extension that ran through June 2027. Dozens of sailings on nine ships are affected: Adventure, Allure, Explorer, Freedom, Harmony, Independence, Serenade, Star and Symphony of the Seas.

Itineraries are being rebuilt rather than shortened. The report gives two examples: Allure’s July 18, 2027 six-night Caribbean sailing from Miami swaps Labadee for Nassau and moves a sea day, while its February 6, 2028 seven-night sailing swaps Labadee for San Juan and shifts the Samana stop a day later. Other reported substitutes include Grand Turk, Amber Cove, Cozumel, Samana and extra sea days, depending on berth availability and itinerary length.

Guests with pre-paid Labadee excursions are refunded automatically. Other excursions are rescheduled, and any that cannot be rebooked are refunded within 14 business days. Ships still make brief, unannounced supply stops there, but passengers do not go ashore.

The context is the security situation in Haiti: the U.S. State Department has a Level 4 Do Not Travel advisory in place, and Royal Caribbean’s earlier suspensions began in March 2024 and again in May 2025. If you are booking a sailing that once listed Labadee, check the current itinerary, because the replacement port may change what you want to do on shore.
