Aeromexico is reported to be adding two new nonstop routes from its Mexico City hub to southern United States cities, both starting in June 2027. Flights between Mexico City and Nashville are listed to begin on June 13, while Mexico City to New Orleans is listed to start on June 17. Each route is scheduled for four weekly flights, so travelers will need to plan around specific days of the week rather than expect a daily option.
The details come from aviation-industry reporting that circulated on November 7, and travelers should treat the schedules as planned rather than final until the airline confirms them. Airlines routinely adjust start dates and frequencies between a first announcement and the day tickets go on sale, so anyone hoping to book should watch for the carrier’s own listings before making plans around a particular date.
The aircraft is the notable choice. Both routes are expected to use Embraer E190 jets configured with 11 business class seats and 88 economy seats, a smaller cabin than the larger narrowbodies often seen on Mexico City trunk routes. A plane of that size suits cities with healthy but not enormous demand, and it keeps the economics workable for a four-times-weekly schedule.
For travelers, the appeal is a one-stop link to Aeromexico’s wider network. Nashville and New Orleans are both popular leisure and music destinations, and a direct connection to Mexico City opens up easier itineraries to Latin America and, through the airline’s alliance partners, onward to destinations beyond. Both routes begin in the middle of the 2027 summer travel season.
