Until now, booking a codeshare flight between India and Singapore generally meant the itinerary had to include a leg actually operated by the selling airline. As of October 15, that requirement is gone. Eligible India-Singapore flights flown by either Air India or Singapore Airlines can be booked through either carrier’s website, app or travel agents as a standalone ticket.
The arrangement covers 126 weekly flights between Singapore and eight Indian cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai. In practice, that gives travelers more ways to compare schedules and fares from a single booking site rather than checking both airlines separately.
Loyalty benefits are arriving in stages. Since April, members of Air India’s Maharaja Club and Singapore’s KrisFlyer can earn miles on more booking classes across both airlines. From the second quarter of 2027, reciprocal perks on eligible routes are planned, including priority check-in and boarding for top-tier members and extra baggage allowance for Silver-level members.
The tie-up grows out of a commercial cooperation framework the two carriers signed in January 2026. For travelers, the most immediate benefit is flexibility: you can pick the flight time you want, whichever airline operates it, and buy it where you already hold an account.
