easyJet Just Gave Southampton Three New Reasons to Fly in 2027

easyJet put five additional routes on sale from UK airports for summer 2027 on October 15, and Southampton is the biggest winner. The airport gets a daily service to Edinburgh starting March 28, 2027, plus new twice-weekly flights to Malaga from May 1 and to La Rochelle in western France from May 29. Fares start at around 32 pounds one way including taxes.

The other two routes reach beyond Southampton. London Gatwick gains a three-times-weekly service to Cagliari, Sardinia, from June 1, and London Luton gets twice-weekly flights to Rennes, in Brittany, from July 1. Introductory fares on those start at roughly 51 pounds and 43 pounds one way respectively.

The announcement follows 18 new routes that easyJet put on sale in September, so the carrier is clearly still stacking up its 2027 summer schedule. Kevin Doyle, easyJet UK country manager, said the new flights add choice and connectivity from local airports, and urged travelers to book early for summer.

For travelers, the practical takeaway is that regional UK airports keep gaining direct links that once required a trip through London. The La Rochelle and Rennes services also open up less-visited parts of France for short breaks. As always, the lowest advertised fares are limited, so it pays to check the dates before committing.
