Silicon Valley’s Newest Hotel Will Have Robots at the Door and Bees on the Roof

Millennium Hotels and Resorts will open M Social Hotel Sunnyvale in California in December 2026, and reservations are already open. It is the brand’s first property on the West Coast. The 263-room hotel sits in a mixed-use development near a man-made lake, close to Highway 101 and San Jose Mineta International Airport.

Technology is the pitch. Robotic service assistants support arrival and navigation around the property, and Upgraded Points reports self-service check-in kiosks as well. The building was designed by BDE Architecture and Mazzarini and Co. and is built to LEED Gold standards, a green certification that covers energy and water use.

The rooftop beehive is the quirkiest feature. Bees there produce honey and serve as a symbol of the hotel’s community-focused concept. Millennium markets the M Social line as a lifestyle brand, and the Sunnyvale location is aimed at a business and leisure mix of Silicon Valley visitors who want something less corporate than a standard airport hotel.

Rates start at $239 a night, according to Upgraded Points, though prices will likely shift with demand once the doors open. Travelers who like to test new properties should note that a December opening can run behind schedule, so confirm amenities such as the restaurant and rooftop before booking an event or a long stay.
