Norwegian Cruise Line has scheduled an announcement for Tuesday, October 20, at 9:15 a.m. Eastern, and it is calling the subject the “grand finale” of its Prima class. The cruise line plans to share details of the sixth and last vessel in the series, which is being built by Fincantieri.
What is known so far is limited but concrete. The ship is expected to be delivered in 2028, at roughly 170,000 tons and with space for about 3,880 guests at double occupancy. Its name has not been made public, and Norwegian has not said what will set it apart from its sisters, so today’s reveal is where those details should arrive.
The class began with Norwegian Prima in 2022 and has grown steadily: Norwegian Viva followed in 2023, Norwegian Aqua in 2025 and Norwegian Luna in 2026, with Luna’s maiden season sailing from PortMiami starting in late March. Norwegian Aura is the next to arrive, now under construction at Fincantieri’s Marghera yard.
Aura is described as about 10 percent larger than its predecessors and the largest ship in the fleet. It is scheduled to enter service in the Mediterranean in 2027 before repositioning to PortMiami in late May for Caribbean cruises. If you like to book new ships early, today’s announcement is the starting gun for the fleet’s next chapter.
