Cunard’s 500th Atlantic Crossing Brings Liverpool Back Into the Story

Cunard has unveiled its 2028-2029 season, and the headline event is a milestone for the line’s flagship. Queen Mary 2 will make the 500th Transatlantic Crossing in Cunard’s history on a 21-night roundtrip from New York. Guests can also join in Hamburg or Southampton, which makes the voyage a flexible way to mark a piece of ocean-liner history.

The crossing also carries a homecoming. It will be the first Cunard transatlantic departure from Liverpool, the company’s founding port, since 2015. Beyond the anniversary voyage, Queen Mary 2 is scheduled for Caribbean sailings from Southampton and New York, a 14-night Norway and Northern Lights itinerary, and a 14-night Western Mediterranean trip that can be linked into a 29-night roundtrip from New York.

Elsewhere in the fleet, Queen Elizabeth will run a 115-night World Voyage with overnights in Cape Town, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney, and return to New Zealand for the first time in four years. Queen Anne heads to South America in 2029 with an overnight in Rio de Janeiro during Carnival, while Queen Victoria concentrates on Scandinavia and Northern Europe, including overnights in Oslo and Copenhagen.

In total, the program covers 93 voyages between October 2028 and May 2029, reaching 104 destinations in 49 countries. Cunard World Club members get early access at 9 a.m. Eastern on November 3, with general booking opening the following day. Guests who book by December 16 can receive a 10 percent introductory saving on a Cunard Fare.
