Lufthansa’s Seattle Flights Are Changing Hands, and Two New Cities Join

Discover Airlines, part of the Lufthansa Group, plans two new destinations for 2027 and a handover on a U.S. route. Frankfurt to Edmonton, Canada, is scheduled to start on June 1, 2027, and Frankfurt to Belize City on December 16, 2027.

The airline will also take over Lufthansa’s Seattle services from Frankfurt and Munich in late March. That change moves flying between airlines inside the group, so the routes themselves are not new, but passengers may notice a different cabin and onboard product than on a mainline Lufthansa flight.

The announcement fits a wider Lufthansa Group expansion for summer 2027, which the group calls its largest program expansion since 2020. That plan includes Frankfurt to Columbus and Munich to Phoenix, plus more Japan flights, so the group is spreading capacity across secondary North American markets as well as major hubs.

Travelers booking Seattle trips should check which carrier operates their flight, as codeshare and loyalty benefits can differ. The schedule details come from company announcements, so dates and frequencies could change before launch.
