El Al Wants Its Cabins to Feel Less Like Security Questions

El Al Israel Airlines announced a package of upgrades headlined by Starlink Wi-Fi across its fleet. The fleet is just under 50 aircraft, including Boeing 787s, 777s and 737s. Installation begins in 2027, though the airline has not said when in the year or how long it will take. The service is expected to be complimentary for passengers.

The other changes begin rolling out gradually from November 2026, depending on destination. Business class gets memory foam pillows and mattress pads, with pajamas, slippers and a soothing fragrance on long-haul flights. New business-class amenity kits from Jo Malone come in about 10 colors, with socks, an eye mask and personal care items.

Dining is getting attention too. New business-class menus and tableware designed with Chef Assaf Granit emphasize healthy, protein-rich meals, and a dessert cart is being added. A new generation of inflight entertainment will offer personalized recommendations and let passengers resume content from a previous flight.

The airline’s app will also add a Travel Mode starting 48 hours before departure, collecting essential pre-flight information in one place. No prices were given for any amenity. For travelers, the Wi-Fi is the long-term change, while the cabin touches should appear sooner, starting on some routes this winter.
