Wizz Air has cancelled every flight to Dubai and Abu Dhabi from October 25, 2026 through March 27, 2027. The budget carrier blames regional airspace restrictions that were extended on September 30, and the decision covers the entire winter season rather than a few weeks of schedule trimming. Flights to Amman, Jordan are affected as well, after European aviation regulators advised airlines to avoid Jordanian airspace.
The rest of Wizz’s European network is unaffected, so the cancellations are concentrated on its longest and most exposed routes. That matters for travelers who booked cheap winter sun or a stopover in the Gulf, because replacement options on the same low-fare model are scarce. Where an alternative flight exists, passengers can rebook through their WIZZ account or the airline’s flight status tools.
Customers get a choice between WIZZ credit and, if eligible, a cash refund. Anyone who has already paid for hotels or tours at the destination should check the cancellation terms of those bookings now, since the airline’s refund covers only the flight. The right to a refund or an alternative flight still applies, and care and assistance such as meals or overnight accommodation may be available depending on circumstances.
Compensation is unlikely because the cause sits outside the airline’s control. Wizz’s site also lists Jeddah but not Riyadh or Dammam, and the Saudi picture is changing quickly after recent attacks and airport closures. Travelers booked anywhere in the Gulf or Levant this winter should confirm their flight status before going to the airport and keep screenshots of every cancellation notice.
