Delta Is Sending a 757 From Boston to Iceland Without Its Top Cabin

Delta Air Lines will fly nonstop from Boston Logan to Reykjavík, Iceland, daily from April 12, 2027, using a Boeing 757-200. The seasonal service runs through October 30, 2027, so it covers the whole of the northern summer and the shoulder months on either side. The airline’s announcement carries an October 16 date, although the underlying story was first published on September 25 and later edited to add the Boston route.

The cabin lineup is Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main. There is no Delta One, the airline’s top cabin, on this route, which is typical of how 757s are used on shorter transatlantic hops. Travellers who want the longest-haul product will not find it here, but the premium economy and extra-legroom options will be on sale from the start of the schedule.

Delta describes Boston as its number one carrier position there and its closest US hub to Europe. Reykjavík will be its 14th unique long-haul destination from Boston during the peak summer season and its 16th international destination overall from the city, which leaves the airport with a broader European map than many travellers might expect from a regional gateway.

Delta’s Iceland history began in June 2011 with New York-JFK to Reykjavík, which the airline describes as the first scheduled nonstop service to Iceland by a US carrier. The Boston flights extend that history to a second US gateway, and give Boston travellers a daily alternative to connecting for Iceland, whether for a stopover or as a final destination.
