Aeromexico plans to add nonstop flights from Mexico City to Fort Lauderdale, Orange County in California and Portland, Oregon, beginning in 2027, The Points Guy reports. According to Cirium schedule data cited in the report, no airline currently flies from Mexico City to any of the three, which means each city would gain its first nonstop link to the Mexican capital.
Specific start dates, frequencies and aircraft types have not been published, so travelers hoping to book will need to wait for the schedules to be filed. Aeromexico is a Delta partner, which generally means connections and loyalty benefits are coordinated between the two carriers once flights go on sale.
The expansion is notable for what it fills in. Without a nonstop, anyone traveling between those three cities and Mexico City today has to connect somewhere along the way, which adds time and a chance for a missed connection. A direct flight also helps itineraries that continue on from Mexico City to the rest of Latin America.
For now, the most useful move is to watch for the schedule filing and fare launch. Keep in mind that this is Aeromexico’s plan for 2027 rather than a booking you can make today, and the airline has not announced prices or exact launch dates.
