easyJet announced on October 26 that it will equip its Airbus A320, A320neo and A321neo aircraft with Starlink Wi-Fi, making it the latest European carrier to sign up for SpaceX’s satellite internet service.
Installations are due to begin in 2027 and finish by early 2028, so passengers will not see connected cabins any time soon. The airline has not said what the service will cost passengers or whether it will be free.
Chief executive Kenton Jarvis said in a news release that innovation is in easyJet’s DNA. The announcement comes while the airline is being acquired by Apollo, with shareholders due to vote on the buyout next month.
The deal puts easyJet on a growing list of airlines choosing Starlink for in-flight connectivity, a market where low-cost carriers have long lagged long-haul rivals. Details on pricing and rollout order will likely matter more to travelers than the headline itself.
