Swan Hellenic Will Teach You to Photograph Antarctica, Ten Guests at a Time

Penguins on an Antarctic shoreline

Swan Hellenic is launching a 2026-27 Antarctic Photography Program with nine voyage-long departures, each limited to 10 guests and priced at $1,000 per person. Participants get professional guidance, dedicated photo opportunities, daily image feedback and editing workshops.

Simon Ager, a Canadian-British photographer, is the program’s inaugural instructor. He leads the Antarctic Peninsula Odyssey from November 24 to December 4, 2026, aboard the H Vega. Landscape photographer Lauren Buchholz leads later sailings, including Ushuaia-based Antarctic Wonders voyages and a Falkland Islands cruise ending in April 2027.

When Zodiac conditions allow, the group gets a dedicated Photography Zodiac with the instructor. The focus is landscape and wildlife photography, including penguins, seals, whales and seabirds, and the program is open to photographers at different skill levels.

Guests should bring their own camera gear, plus a laptop if they want to join the editing sessions. Chief commercial officer Mario Bounas also said photography sailings will launch in Asia-Pacific next summer season.
