Viking has announced a 19-day Grand Nile Journey, with departures starting in 2028 and bookings open now. The trip begins with four hotel nights in Cairo, followed by a 14-night cruise from Cairo to Aswan aboard the Viking Ra, which carries 52 guests in 26 suites.
Viking calls it its most in-depth Egypt program, with 17 guided tours. Cairo highlights include the Giza pyramids, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum, while the route also takes in the Meidum Pyramid, the Beni Hasan tombs and Tell el-Amarna in Middle Egypt, plus Deir el-Muharraq monastery, Luxor, Karnak, the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Seti I at Abydos.
In Aswan, guests visit Philae and Abu Simbel and take a traditional felucca ride. Optional extensions include two more nights in Cairo, five nights in Morocco and four nights in Jordan, the latter two fully guided.
The itinerary joins Viking’s existing Egypt lineup, which includes the 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids and a sold-out 12-day Total Eclipse sailing in 2027. Viking now runs 10 vessels in Egypt, with two more due in 2028. Through October 31, U.S. residents can get reduced airfare, special fares and a $25 deposit under Viking’s Fall Sale.
