A familiar West Coast cruise ship has a new home port on the other side of the world. Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas has arrived in Singapore to begin a year-long season, marking the 4,000-passenger vessel’s Asian debut. It had been based in Los Angeles since November 2021.
The itineraries range from two to twelve nights. Shorter options include five-night trips to Penang and Phuket, while a ten-night voyage combines Thailand and Vietnam. For travelers wanting a bigger journey, 12-night sailings link Singapore with Tokyo by way of Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Royal Caribbean is already planning the handoff. Quantum of the Seas takes over the Singapore season in October 2027, and Voyager of the Seas is scheduled to sail from the city from January through April 2028. That cadence suggests the line sees Southeast Asia as a market worth sustained investment rather than a one-off experiment.
For Singapore-based travelers, a large, resort-style ship departing from home offers a short-break option without long-haul flights. For visitors from further afield, it can be a way to combine several Southeast Asian ports on one hotel-like base, though it is worth confirming visa rules for each port of call before booking.
