South Australians can once again fly direct to New Zealand on Qantas. The airline restarted its Adelaide–Auckland service on Oct. 30, and the flights are scheduled to operate through April 26, 2027, covering the Southern Hemisphere summer.
The seasonal route is described as Qantas’s only international service from South Australia this summer, which makes it the carrier’s lone overseas link from Adelaide during the warmest months. Without it, travelers would typically connect through Sydney, Melbourne or another hub on the way to New Zealand.
This season’s flights come with a cabin upgrade for leisure travelers: Qantas is offering Economy Plus, a premium economy-style product with extra legroom, alongside additional onboard services. Exact weekly frequencies and fares vary, so it is worth checking the airline’s schedule for the dates you want.
The announcement lands as the airline’s relationship with Air New Zealand is set to change. Qantas has said its partnership with the New Zealand flag carrier will end in April 2027, a shift that could matter to frequent flyers who use both airlines for trans-Tasman trips.
