Sydney Is About to Sell Lounge Access to Anyone With A$29

Domestic travelers at Sydney Airport will soon have a lounge they can simply pay to enter. Plaza Premium plans to open a 113-seat, 545-square-meter lounge in Terminal 2 in early December 2026, located after security opposite Gate 49 on Pier B. It will operate from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, and no airline status or business-class ticket is required.

Pricing is tiered. A Lite package costs A$29 for two hours and includes food and non-alcoholic drinks, while the Full package at A$54 adds selected alcoholic drinks. Priority Pass members are slated to receive the Full package, Amex Platinum cardholders are eligible, and Smart Traveller members get 20 percent off, according to the report. Extras such as showers have been described only as likely, not confirmed.

The lounge is open to passengers on Virgin Australia, Jetstar and other Terminal 2 airlines. Jetstar travelers may benefit most, since T2 currently has no lounge serving them. Plaza Premium says it is investing A$20 million over two years, and a Cairns lounge is planned for early 2027, signaling a wider push into Australian domestic airports.

The details come from a single outlet relaying operator information, and the images published so far are renders. Treat ‘early December’ as an estimate and check Plaza Premium’s website for an opening date and final prices before building your travel plans around it.
