Grand Cayman’s Biggest New Hotel Debuts, and It Isn’t Cheap

The Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman Resort & Spa will open on Saturday, November 28, on Seven Mile Beach, according to Deep Arrival. The resort has 382 rooms and suites, all with furnished balconies and starting at 468 square feet, plus one- to three-bedroom residences. It sits about ten minutes from Owen Roberts International Airport and is included on Travel Extra’s list of major hotel openings for November.

Opening-night member rates start at about $1,767 per night plus an $85 nightly resort fee, per the article, which also cites a public rate of roughly $1,801 before taxes. Those are launch-period prices and may change, and the article advises checking December and early 2027 rates. On points, the hotel is a World of Hyatt Category 8 property, with award rates of 35,000 points off-peak, 55,000 standard and 75,000 peak.

The resort has around 900 feet of oceanfront, three pools, the Mera Spa, a fitness center and the Camp Hyatt kids’ program. Six dining venues include Salt + Cinder, Breadkind Market, Lo Tide, Hi Tide, a lobby lounge and Brasa, a Caribbean grill. There are 25,000 square feet of event space with a ballroom for up to 1,100 guests, which Hyatt describes as the largest on the island.

For travelers, the opening adds high-end capacity to one of the Caribbean’s most popular beaches ahead of the winter season. Brand-new resorts often have some rough edges during their first weeks, and rates can fall once initial demand settles, so flexible travelers may want to compare dates before booking. Pets up to two per room at 70 pounds each are also allowed, which is unusual for a resort of this size.
