Carnival Corporation has announced a two-ship shuffle between its brands. Cunard’s Queen Anne will join P&O Cruises in May 2029 after completing Cunard’s 2028-29 world cruise, and P&O’s Arcadia will move to Holland America Line after its final voyage ends on August 21, 2029.

Queen Anne will undergo what Carnival calls an extensive reimagining and be renamed. Before that, she will play a central role in a Four Queens celebration in Liverpool in May 2028.

Paul Ludlow, who leads Carnival UK, P&O Cruises and Cunard, said the move introduces a new class of ship to P&O and leaves Cunard with a more closely unified fleet built around Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth.

The company also said a major upgrade of Queen Mary 2 is planned in the coming year. Holland America grows to 12 ships with Arcadia, which has served P&O for more than two decades.
