MSC Cruises has opened bookings for its 2029 world cruise, a 119-night round-trip voyage aboard MSC Magnifica departing in January 2029. The itinerary covers 21 countries and 45 destinations. The main departure is Civitavecchia, the port for Rome, on January 4, with additional embarkation options in Genoa, Marseille and Barcelona.

The route reaches deep into the Southern Hemisphere. In Australia it calls at Sydney, Melbourne, Kangaroo Island, Adelaide, Perth, Fremantle, Broome and Darwin. Indonesia stops include Bali, Lombok, Java and Celukan Bawang. Other highlights are Rio de Janeiro, Ushuaia, Singapore, Lautoka in Fiji, Timaru in New Zealand and Milford Sound.

TravelPulse did not list a fare in its report. It says the price includes 15 shore excursions, a Dine and Drink beverage package and a 30 percent laundry discount. MSC Voyagers Club members at Classic level and above receive 5 percent off, which gives loyal cruisers a reason to book early.

A voyage of this length is a commitment of time more than money, and early booking usually secures better cabin choice. Anyone considering it should check visa and health requirements for each country, particularly where an itinerary crosses several regions, and look at the cancellation terms, since a trip booked more than two years ahead has plenty of time for plans to change.
