A Royal Caribbean Ship Just Swapped California for Singapore

Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas has left Los Angeles for an extended Asia deployment that runs through October 2027. The ship is repositioning via Tokyo, and will sail from Yokohama and Singapore during its time in the region.

For travelers in Southeast Asia, the headline is the Singapore program. Departures begin in late October with cruises of two to ten nights to Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam, a mix that suits both quick getaways and longer regional trips. Short itineraries are a popular way to sample multiple countries without much logistics.

The move is part of a larger trend of cruise lines placing mainstream ships in Asian homeports, where demand has been growing and travelers can sail without long flights. Yokohama also gives Japan-bound passengers another option for boarding close to Tokyo.

The ship is not leaving the Pacific coast of the United States for good. After the Asia assignment it returns to California for winter Mexican Riviera and Baja cruises, so West Coast fans will see it come back. Anyone eyeing a sailing should check the specific itinerary dates, since schedules vary by month.
