Marriott is about to put its Autograph Collection flag on a tented camp in Tanzania. Mereshi Safari Camp Serengeti is scheduled to open in November 2026 with just 18 tented suites, placed near the Fort Ikoma gate on the park’s northwestern side.
The price is the headline. Rates for 2027 begin at $1,325 per night, which is firmly in luxury-safari territory and well above what most Bonvoy-branded hotels charge. Camps at this level typically bundle meals, game drives and guiding, so travelers should check exactly what the nightly figure covers before comparing it with other lodges.
Marriott is sweetening the opening with a promotion worth 25,000 Bonvoy points, a nod to the loyalty members it hopes will take a chance on a first-year property. Small camps like this sell out quickly in peak migration months, so flexible travelers may find better availability outside the busiest windows.
The opening is part of a broader push by large hotel companies into experiential and safari lodging, categories once dominated by independent operators. For travelers, that means more points-earning options in remote places, though the exclusivity and the price tag remain firmly in splurge territory.
