AIDA Cruises has announced its first world cruise, and it is a long one. AIDAmar will leave Warnemünde, Germany, on November 3, 2028 and finish in Hamburg on March 25, 2029. That is 142 days, including 12 overnight stays, across 51 ports in 19 countries on five continents.
The route runs from Europe down to South America, with stops including Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Tierra del Fuego and Cape Horn. It then crosses to the South Seas, with Easter Island, French Polynesia at Christmas and Suva, Fiji on New Year’s Eve, before reaching New Zealand and Australia.
Australia gets the most attention, with 11 ports, more than any previous AIDA cruise, including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns. The voyage then heads through the Indian Ocean and Africa, calling at Mauritius, La Réunion, Cape Town and Walvis Bay, before returning via Cape Verde.
Fares start at €20,995 per person, based on two sharing an inside cabin at the Premium rate and including a €4,000 Early Bird Plus discount. The announcement did not say when or how booking opens beyond that pricing, so interested cruisers should watch AIDA’s own channels.
