British Airways Is Back on a Route It Dropped Eight Months Ago

British Airways restarted flights between London Heathrow and Tel Aviv on October 25, the first day of the winter flight season, ending an eight-month pause on the route. The service operates once a day, overnight, using an Airbus A321neo. Head for Points, which reported the return, said it did not find an explanation of why the route had been paused, so travelers should not read too much into the timing.

The schedule is built around the night. The outbound flight leaves Heathrow at 8:30pm and lands at Ben Gurion at 3:25am, while the return departs Tel Aviv at 6:10am and arrives in London at 9:55am. That means arrivals in Israel in the small hours, so passengers should arrange ground transport and hotel check-in in advance. The morning arrival at Heathrow does give a useful window for same-day connections.

BA is not the only airline in its group coming back. Iberia, its sister carrier, has also resumed daily flights between Madrid and Tel Aviv. For travelers based in Spain, or connecting through Madrid, that gives a second European gateway into Israel from the same airline family, and it adds capacity on a market that has seen flights come and go.

Anyone planning to travel should check current government travel advice and the airline’s conditions before booking. The route’s eight-month absence is a reminder that schedules to the region can change, so flexible fares or good travel insurance are worth considering. Reservations are open on the airline’s website for the winter schedule.
