Carnival’s New Cruise Card Stickers Are Dividing Passengers

A tiny adhesive label has become the latest talking point among Carnival cruisers. The line is adding “Crew Love” stickers to the Sail & Sign cards of guests who prepay their gratuities, a visual signal meant to show crew members that the tip has already been taken care of.

Carnival confirmed that the stickers are part of a broader pilot and that it is evaluating feedback before deciding what comes next. Forum posts from passengers aboard Carnival Sunrise suggest the stickers may also display the number of days a guest has sailed, although that detail comes from guest reports rather than a company announcement.

Reaction in cruise communities has been mixed. Some passengers see the stickers as a harmless thank-you gesture or even a way to be recognized by staff. Others call them a privacy concern, arguing that a person’s tipping choices should not be visible to anyone who glances at a cabin card. A few point out that the sticker can simply be peeled off.

As a pilot, the idea may change or disappear. Guests who do not like the concept can ask about removing the sticker, and those who prepay gratuities only for convenience should know that the label is optional-feeling at best. It is a reminder of how much of the modern cruise experience now runs through a single plastic card.
