Maastricht is getting a new riverside hotel this month. The Van der Valk Exclusief Hotel Maastricht-Maas holds its grand opening in November, according to Euronews Travel’s guide to new European hotels, and brings 113 rooms to the banks of the River Maas in the southern Dutch city.
The standout feature is a panoramic wellness area on the fifth floor, which gives guests views over the river from above the surrounding rooftops. Wellness spaces have become a standard selling point for hotels aiming to attract both leisure travelers and business guests staying longer than a night.
Maastricht sits close to the Belgian and German borders and is known for its historic center, cafes and shopping, making it a convenient base for short breaks across the three countries. A new mid-sized hotel on the river adds options in a city where many travelers choose small, older properties.
Opening-day pricing and the full facilities list were not included in the announcement summary, so travelers should check the hotel’s website for room rates, restaurant details and any introductory offers before making plans around the opening.
