Etihad and STARLUX Now Let Miles Travel in Both Directions

Etihad Guest and STARLUX COSMILE have expanded their loyalty partnership so miles can flow in both directions. Members of each program can now earn and redeem on the other airline’s flights, according to an industry news roundup published November 3.

Redemptions cover award tickets on partner flights in First, Business and Economy cabins. Members can also request retroactive mileage credit for eligible flights, which is useful for anyone who already flew the partner before the change took effect.

The step builds on earlier cooperation. An August arrangement had let Etihad Guest members redeem miles on STARLUX Business and Economy, so this update completes the circle by letting STARLUX members use their miles on Etihad too. A codeshare agreement was signed in June 2025.

The two carriers are connected by Etihad’s Abu Dhabi to Taipei service, launched in September 2025 on a Boeing 787-9. For frequent flyers, the practical appeal is more routes and more places to spend miles across the Gulf, Taiwan and beyond. As ever, check award availability and any partner surcharges before transferring or planning around it.
