Qatar Airways flew its first Doha–Bogotá–Caracas service on November 4, opening two new cities in South America. The airline says it is the first Gulf carrier to serve Venezuela, and the routing is a triangle rather than a simple out-and-back: Doha to Bogotá, then on to Caracas, then a nonstop return to Doha.
The flight, QR783, is scheduled twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, using a Boeing 777-200LR. Local times listed for the launch have it leaving Doha at 07:35 and reaching Bogotá at 16:25, departing Bogotá at 17:55 and landing in Caracas at 21:00. The return leg leaves Caracas at 23:30 and reaches Doha at 20:35 the following day.
Bogotá and Caracas become Qatar Airways’ 16th and 17th destinations in the Americas. The carrier has also lined up a partnership with LATAM Airlines Colombia so passengers arriving in Bogotá can connect to 17 domestic points, including Cartagena, Medellín, Cali and San Andrés Island. That feeder link matters because the new service itself touches only two Latin American cities.
The launch is a reminder that the schedule was not smooth to arrive. A May 2026 announcement pointed to a July 22 start with different timings, so the November debut came later than first planned. As with any new long-haul route, times and aircraft can change, and travelers should check the airline’s booking pages before building a trip around it.
