Kuwait Airways has added a new nonstop between Kuwait City and Phuket, flying twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays with Airbus A330-900neo aircraft. The airline already served Thailand, and the new route lifts its Thai frequency to eight flights a week. Inbound seat capacity from Kuwait to Thailand rises 27.7 percent to 2,560 seats per week, according to the route schedule data reported this week.
The choice of aircraft is notable. The A330-900neo is among the newest widebodies in the carrier’s fleet, and putting it on a leisure route to the Andaman coast signals that Gulf airlines see resort demand as a core part of their winter schedules. Phuket service may reach four weekly flights between December 2, 2026 and February 3, 2027, reflecting peak-season demand.
The timing is useful for Thailand. The country has been working to keep arrivals strong as it adjusts its visa rules, and a direct link from the Gulf gives visitors from Kuwait and neighbouring markets an easier path than connecting through a regional hub. Travellers should still check current entry requirements for their passport before booking.
For passengers on the Kuwaiti side, a nonstop to Phuket cuts out the connection that previously defined the trip, which can make a short winter break more practical. The twice-weekly pattern means flexibility is limited, so a Tuesday outbound and Saturday return suits a four- or ten-day stay, and you should book early for the December to February peak, when extra flights are only a possibility rather than a confirmed schedule.
