Four Seasons is adding a Tangier address to its Moroccan portfolio. The company announced a resort in the Cap Malabata district that will be its fourth in the country, developed with Royal Resort Cap Malabata and backed by GFH Bank.
The plan calls for 99 rooms and suites, including 27 standalone villas, along more than 260 meters of waterfront. Four signature restaurants are planned. The mix of villas and a long shoreline points toward a resort aimed at extended stays rather than a quick city overnight.
Access looks convenient on paper. A train station is about 15 minutes from the site and Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport about 45 minutes away. Tangier has been attracting investment as a Mediterranean gateway, and a luxury resort fits that wider push to draw higher-spending visitors.
No opening date was given in the material reviewed, so this remains a project to watch rather than a place to book. Travelers planning a Morocco itinerary this winter will need to look at existing properties, but the announcement is a sign of how competitive the country’s high-end market has become.
