Carnival’s Boarding Clock Just Moved Up Again, This Time for 93 Sailings

Carnival Cruise Line has shifted another 93 sailings to leave 30 minutes earlier than planned, moving the scheduled departure from 3:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The change, reported by Cruise Hive on November 4, covers two ships: Carnival Liberty, which has 47 sailings out of New Orleans, and Carnival Splendor, which has 46 sailings out of Sydney. Port arrival and return times are not affected, so the only thing that moves is the afternoon deadline.

For Liberty, the new time applies from January 3, 2027 through November 20, 2027. Splendor’s changed sailings begin in December 2026 and run through November 2027, with five departures in December (the 8th, 13th, 17th, 26th and 30th) followed by 41 in 2027. One Splendor date, July 31, 2027, keeps its original time, and the ship is scheduled to be in dry dock in August.

The announcement follows an earlier adjustment affecting 153 sailings on Carnival Elation and Carnival Glory out of Florida, which brings the total number of sailings with the earlier time to 246. Carnival has not given a reason for either change, and the cruise line has made similar departure-time tweaks before.

The practical advice is simple: do not rely on the time you had in your head when you booked. Check your boarding pass or your booking for the final boarding window, and plan to be at the terminal early, especially if you are flying in the same day. A 30-minute shift sounds small, but it can matter for guests cutting an arrival flight close.
