Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas, the third ship in its Icon Class, is making its European debut this month with seven-night western Mediterranean sailings out of Rome, part of a rotation that also includes Barcelona and Fort Lauderdale as homeports.
The ship carries more than 5,610 passengers across eight themed neighborhoods, with over 40 bars and restaurants, seven pools, and a full water park with multiple slides. New entertainment includes Royal Railway — Legend Station, a five-course dining experience styled as a train journey along the ancient Silk Routes, and Hollywoodland Supper Club, a multi-course dinner built around the golden age of Hollywood.
Bringing an Icon Class ship to Europe for the first time is a notable move for Royal Caribbean, which has concentrated the class’s earlier ships in the Caribbean. It signals the line’s bet that European cruisers want the same scale and onboard variety that’s driven demand for Icon-class sailings out of Florida.
